ISO 20000:2018 is the world’s first international standard for IT Service Management. The ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 standard allows companies to demonstrate excellence and prove best practice in IT management. This standard provides evidence-based benchmarks to continuously improve the delivery of IT services. ISO/IEC 20000:2018 was released in 2011 based on the IT infrastructure library (ITIL®) best practice framework, and updated in line with the release of ITIL 4 in 2011.
TThe standard is intended for organizations who provide managed IT services, such as infrastructure and/or applications support, for both external delivery to clients who have outsourced their IT support, and for internal IT groups. A certificate issued by a third-party registrar demonstrates that your IT management system has been certified against the requirements of ISO 20000:2018. Implementing ISO 20000-1:2018 by setting up internal processes gives customers confidence in your ability to deliver quality services through your IT infrastructure. ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 is the formal specification that defines the requirements for an organization to deliver managed services of an acceptable quality to its customers.
